Hispanic Businesses in El Paso at The Top of the Nation

The borderland is represented nationally as eight local businesses are included among the fastest growing Hispanic businesses in the nation.  The nationally recognized companies will be celebrated at the Annual Sol de Oro Celebration on July 22, 2010 beginning at 5:30 p.m.

On June 1, 2010, nationally acknowledged publication, Hispanic Business Magazine, featured the fastest growing Hispanic businesses in the nation.  Among the 500 companies, the borderland was well represented with the inclusion of eight Hispanic businesses.  Local companies include in the prestigious list are Fred Loya Insurance (#11), Pro Auto Dealers (#163), Bravo South West LLC (#169), RM Personnel (#172), Miratek (239), dmDickason Personnel (#271) and Human Capital International dba Integrated Human Capital (#343).   Among our regional winners, Las Cruces is represented with the presence of Zia Engineering (#375).

“Our local Hispanic businesses triumphed during a time of large economic challenges,” said Cindy Ramos-Davidson, CEO of your El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.  “At the time when our nation was shaken by global adversity, these businesses rode the tides of change and diversified in order to turn a challenging time into an opportunity.”

The 2010 Celebration comes in conjunction 412 years of an interactive community rich in culture, heritage and enterprise.

“The theme of the Sol De Oro Celebration is the Road to El Dorado.  History tells us that when the conquistadors arrived in our area in the late 1500 they were looking for the city of golden opportunities.  Almost half a century later, we are celebrating that El Paso is the city of golden opportunities thanks to our businesses.   Just as the golden sun, the businesses that we will be recognizing during the Sol De Oro Celebration are a guiding light for other small business to follow,” added Ramos-Davidson.

The local companies are among the 79 Hispanic businesses from the state of Texas that made the list.  El Paso is listed among the top 5 cities from the Lone Star State with most Hispanic businesses mentioned in the Hispanic Business 500.  Houston topped the list with 20 businesses; San Antonio and  Dallas tied for second with ten businesses each.   El Paso filled the fourth slot with seven businesses and Laredo occupies the fifth position with four businesses.

According to Hispanic Business Magazine, the borderland businesses in the list together make valuable contributions to our community.  Collectively, the nine companies provide employment to 2,805 people with an estimated economic impact of $545.78 million.

The El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce will recognize the outstanding labor of the regional businesses that with the vision and perseverance are highlighting the borderland community.

The event will be accompanied with an afterhours networking Mercado.  To purchase a booth and participate in the celebratory event please contact Kirsten Enriquez at 566-4066 or via e-mail at kenriquez@ephcc.org.
