ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS BANQUET

WHO:         The El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Educational Development Foundation & Board of Directors

WHAT:        With the participation of the President & CEO of First Light Federal Credit Union, Karl Murphy as Keynote Speaker, our Annual Scholarship Awards Banquet will recognize our 2017 Scholarship Recipients. This year we are awarding 21 students, more students than ever before. Each student will receive a $1,500 scholarship from our generous sponsors at a reception sponsored by First Light Federal Credit Union.

BACKGROUND:

The El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce administers the EPHCC Educational Development Foundation, whose purpose is to make college admission possible for talented, motivated and economically disadvantaged youth in El Paso County, Texas. The EPHCC Educational Development Foundation is a non-profit organization that connects students with scholarships through the acquisition of grants, sponsorships, and donations.

The EPHCC Foundation Board Members, sponsors, staff, and volunteers, are committed to working toward the goal of increasing the rate of El Paso students earning a college degree. Since its formation, the EPHCC Educational Development Foundation Scholarship Fund has given over 300 scholarships to local high school students amounting to more than $300,000. The EPHCC Educational Development Foundation has helped students in achieving their academic dreams of obtaining a higher education by pursuing degrees in Health Care such as Nursing, Pharmacy, Speech Language Pathology, and Pre-Medicine; to Business, Engineering, Computer Science and International Relations to just mention a few.
