Advocacy

Why Your Voice Matters

As a Chamber member, your benefits include access to professional government-relations staff.  We value your input, issues, and/or concerns, and look forward to voicing your needs on your behalf. Together, we want to make El Paso the place for you to start and grow your business.

Local Efforts

We meet with city representatives, and we:

  • Speak at city council on behalf of our small businesses on issues that affect them.

  • Bring city and county officials to meet with our small businesses and listen to their concerns.

  • Work with city and county departments such as Planning & Inspections and Economic Development, to help small business owners solve whatever issues are plaguing their economic growth.

  • Work with city, county, and school districts to ensure that small, minority, veteran, and women-owned business goals are included in all their projects.

  • Testify on initiatives and legislations to effectively advocate the business position on pending public policy issues.

  • Survey our members to get a feel for the state of our local business landscape and economic climate.

HC to DC

Every spring, your El Paso Hispanic Chamber of commerce hits the Hill during its annual trip to Washington D.C. We go to our nation’s capital as part of the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Legislative Conference to advocate for El Paso’s small, minority, and women-owned business community. As a member, we invite you to join us for a week of high-energy and action-driven meetings with key federal agencies as we continue to market the many services our small business community provides.

Austin Fly-In Days

Join us during our bi-annual marketing trip to Austin, Texas. During every legislative session, the Chamber converges on the lone star state’s Capitol to advocate for the El Paso small, minority, veteran, and women-owned businesses. We invite you to join us for a week of vigorous conferences with key state officials.
