Governor's Small Business Forum

Governor's Small Business Forums, sponsored by the Texas Governor’s Office, the Texas Workforce Commission, and local partners, are designed to give entrepreneurs and small businesses valuable tools, skills, and knowledge needed to thrive in today’s fast-paced economy. Featuring a wide range of instructive seminars and expert speakers offering vital information on both public and private resources, the forums provide a great opportunity to network and connect with industry specialists, government officials, service providers, and other regional businesses.

GovYour El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce has been selected in numerous occassions to host the Governor's Small Business Forum. The last one we hosted was this year on April with a very special guest of honor: Texas First Lady Cecilia Abbott presenting the local small businesses with State of Texas Small Business Awards.

“We are honored and pleased to have been selected for the fourth time,” Chamber CEO Cindy Ramos-Davidson said. “We have already begun planning to make this an incredible event for our local small businesses. As host partners, we have reached out to community and regional partners to present a diverse and successful event.”

The Small Business Forums are designed to give Texas entrepreneurs and small businesses valuable tools, skills and knowledge needed to thrive in today’s fast-paced economy. Forums feature a wide range of instructive seminars and expert speakers offering vital information on both public and private resources. Additionally, each forum will recognize outstanding local small businesses with State of Texas Small Business Awards. Since inception in 2010, more than 100 Forums have been hosted throughout Texas and over 400 Texas small businesses have been presented with a State of Texas Small Business Award. Economic Development Organizations underwent a rigorous application and evaluation process to be awarded a Forum.
