The El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with Texas Tech University and the State of Texas Historically Underutilized Business Discussion Outreach Committee will host the 6th Annaul Regional Economic Opportunity Forum, Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at the El Paso Community Administrative Services Center, 9050 Viscount Blvd., in El Paso, Texas.

The one-day forum is “Selling Texas – One Region At A Time”.  The Summit will be a full day of discussion and education on a variety of topics of concern to small, minority, and women owned businesses.  “How to obtain valuable HUB certification” and “How to do business with the State” are the main topics to be discussed.  Over 35 small business vendors will have an opportunity to network with city/state/federal procurement officers on how to bid on government contracts.

State Senator Eliot Shapleigh, will be the keynote at the event, and has been asked to discuss the regional business climate as well as the role that small business and entrepreneurs play in Texas’ continued growth.

The event is free for local businesses.  There is a registration fee for state and federal agencies is $250 and non governmental agencies is $300. 

The forum is sponsored by the Texas Tech University, Office of the Governor-Economic Development and Tourism, and Office of the Secretary of State, Texas Department of Transportation, and the HUB Discussion Workgroup Outreach Committee.

Forum exhibits and workshops are free to the public.  The cost of the luncheon is $20 per person.
